Circus Of Horrors

This is one of my collections from college, it was my final major project in my BTEC National Diploma and my inspiration was nightmares and circus.
I have always found the circus a scary place but have recently found it fascinating the colour's and the drama.   I wanted to create clowns you would see in nightmares and that would stick out and catch people's eyes, the make-up was a big part of the theme as it made them look quirky and upset clowns.
I looked at all sorts of pictures from circus from the past and present and came up with these ideas. Reading I love reading and one day I read a book called The Night Circus which was full of imaginative things that got me really excited about this collection.

I was really pleased with the finished project I think that it worked really well as a collection and the theme worked and people understood what the theme was, I got good feedback and comments.
Thanks for reading.

Whats Hot and Whats not this Autumn/Winter?

Well I have been doing a project at college called Fashion collection and realisation so we have been asked to surf the web in search for trends that are in this season.
First stop was topshop, I found  trends on the site that are in this winter;
* Sensationalist - Jewel encrusted, Shine, Dominatrix, Metallic, Snakeskin, and sequins!

* Pennsylvania - This Androgynous look is full of oversized  outwear but mixed dainty frills and ditsy florals. A lot of faded denim and delicate lace! Masculinity with a feminine twist!

On the online retailers such as ASOS and Misguided these wear the two I checked out they both had camouflage and khaki for one of their trends.

Also other trends on these two sites were oxblood this is a trend I am loving this winter I have quite a lot of oxblood in my wardrobe!

Well those were a few of my favourite trends from this years high street and online retailers.

Happy Shopping!

You be welcomed in with a Hollywood red carpet theme with paparazzi! There will be cupcakes, cocktails and crepes made in front of you in a french style. You will be welcomed in to sounds of The Belltones which is a bit of swing to add a bit of class to the evening.

Hello Guys
I really need to start sitting down and doing this more often, well as it is Fashion week I thought it would be the opportune moment to post!
The designers that had stood out to me most in the London Fashion Week is Ashish he has done a school rebellion based collection a lot of 90's feel in the collection with denim, sequins and sheer fabric it is a very slouchy loose fitted collection. I will be  using him in my research and final major project at college as I find his work very interesting and different.
Another collection that caught my eye was Moschino he did a different take on things and did a futuristic theme but mixed in with a 1960's feel to it with the shapes and details with shrunken shaped garments to be all kitsch. I really enjoyed watching this fashion show as the clean colour white makes the garments look more fresh and clean and more spectacular I think that spring/summer 2013 is all about white.
These are my two favourite collections so far I am still going through the whole list on www.style.com it gives a excellent variety of the shows and images of them all.
Thanks for reading I will be back with more !

Androgyny Focusing on Androgyny, a clash of male strength and female sophistication. Empowering women to be righteous equals, but still allowing manipulative femininity. A play on the gender game sees sharp masculine suits contrasting with flirty embellished hemlines and sexy detailing echoing the 1920’s flappers. Dapper top hats above angular bobbed cuts with a seductive courtesan twist.

Savage Beauty.

McQueen is one of my biggest inspirations not only in fashion but in life he sees everything in a way no one sees and he sees the beauty in everything no matter how dark. This exhibition of his 'Savage Beauty' was his exhibition after he decided to leave the world. He was extremely interested in nature just because it is unpredictable. It was something he could never understand as he couldn't control what happens in nature this is why I think he did his collection on nature as he can control it and it can be unpredictable.

Punk's Not Dead!

Currently I am a huge fan of punk and think it was a brilliant fashion movement and also art and music as a matter of fact. I have been looking at punk for my collection for university I am getting a lot of inspiration from Vivienne West wood which I am not normally a fan of but she was big part of the punk movement.
A lot of the inspiration is from things such as music and album and vinyl covers which my dad has plenty of! I have been listening to the New York Dolls quite recently which has put me in the mood for punk and got me raring to go. Also The Ramones.
I am excited about this and will let you know how the collection goes.
